About the Acer Palmatum 'Garnet':
Variety: Acer Palmatum 'Garnet', Garnet Japanese Maple
Full Size: Typically grows about 1.5 to 1.8 metres tall and slightly wider than tall over time, forming a graceful umbrella shape.
Foliage: Deciduous. A pendulous, finely dissected red maple that emerges in spring with deep maroon tones, then finishes with vivid purple red colour late in autumn.
Why Choose the Acer Palmatum Garnet?
Key Features:
• One of the most popular red weeping Maples for good reason, it delivers strong colour plus a beautiful cascading form.
• Naturally forms an elegant umbrella shape, ideal as a feature tree near paths, water, rock gardens, and Japanese inspired spaces.
• Spring foliage opens in a deep maroon shade that gives instant impact, especially against greens and silvers in the garden.
• Late season colour is a standout, finishing vivid purple red for a strong autumn display.
• A vigorous grower for a weeping dissected variety, so it fills out well and becomes a real feature without decades of waiting.
• Performs best with consistent moisture and shelter from hot, drying winds, especially in warmer Australian positions where delicate dissected foliage can scorch.
